Hello beautiful people! We’re overwhelmed with the positive response we’ve gotten to the Nu Project, but it’s left us feeling like we need to get in gear and schedule shoots more often than once a year. We’d like to being working in Europe this summer in addition to our fall shoots in Spain and Portugal, but we need some help to do it. Well, it’s been a crazy month. We’re almost at the end of our Kickstarter which means we’ll start working on the actual printing of the book. We’ve been thinking about this for so long it’s almost unbelievable that it’s actually happening. That said, without you it wouldn’t be happening.

We met with the printer today and got to see what our work will become. I’ve never been more excited for a project in my life. We’ve always said that our work wasn’t meant to be enjoyed at a computer – it’s meant to sit on your coffee table.

A huge thank you to all of the people that have supported the project. You have no idea how much you mean to us! You can still pick up a copy on Kickstarter for $50. After the campaign is over the price for the book will be $59 if we end up adding the 50 pages (which I think we will).

We’ll post additional information about the status of the book after we regroup next week. Here’s to an awesome final 24 hours!

A couple of really exciting things are coming up next week.

1 - Our Kickstarter ends next Saturday. Our goal was to pre-sell 600 books and we’re so close! If you haven’t pre-ordered your book and would still like to please do at http://kck.st/W050SY.

2 - We’ve got 3 Nu Project shoots set up in Minneapolis, one of which will have a cover image chosen from the edit. Our first cover!

We’ve got some issues with the site but we’ve put a Band-Aid on it for now. Hopefully you’re able to get to the galleries and everything. Sorry for the inconvenience. We’re so thankful for all of the people who sent emails expressing their worry that our site was down – it really shows you care!

We’re so excited to finally be publishing the new work from Brazil that we shot last November. It’s under the galleries Women of South America II and III. We could not be happier with the way it turned out.

We received this in our email box the other day. Such kindness from a complete stranger.

I do realize you might not get to see this message, since you probably receive a lot of them every day, but I just wanted to give it a try and say a big, heartfelt thank you for your beautiful work at the Nu Project. I’ve struggled with body issues my whole life, as I imagine most women do; it is just so easy to listen to society when they say our faces and bodies are wrong and ugly and too fat or too thin because they don’t fit certain patterns – which are, of course, randomly set and nearly impossible to achieve. It’s easy to believe them, and feel lesser, unworthy, unattractive and unlovable. Your work proves society wrong and shows the undeniable beauty in women, naturally portrayed without makeup and shot on poses not meant to make their “junk” look better. And I’m sure many people, men and women, look at the pictures and think “These people are not movie stars and porn stars and yet they are astonishingly beautiful, and maybe so am I”.

Thank you to the over 1,800 women who signed up to be part of our shooting in Brazil.  We only have 1 or 2 session left and they are in the city of Recife.  If you know anyone in Recife or Olinda please encourage them to sign up.

Thank you to all of the women in Brazil who have volunteered for the project. Based on the inquiries we received, we’ve chosen 4 cities for shoots: São Paulo, Rio, Recife, and Salvador.  For those of you in those cities that have signed up please look for a followup email in the next few weeks.

To all of the women outside of those cities who showed interest – thank you.  We promise this won’t be the last trip we take to Brazil.

We’ve reached a milestone as over 1,500 women have now signed up to be part of The Nu Project.  We’re so grateful for all of the support and interest in the project and we are brainstorming ways to get to more places to shoot.  Thank you especially to all the women of Spain, Portugal and Iceland who have signed up recently.  We’ll do everything we can to get to your countries soon!

Because of all the traffic to the site lately we’ve had to move servers. We’ll be offline until tomorrow. We’ll get everything working again ASAP. Thanks for your patience.

Sorry about all of the craziness on the site lately. We’re moving to an upgraded server to handle the increased traffic and there have been some configuration problems. Please hang in there with us!

This week we will be launching The Nu Blog. For now it will be a first look at the shoots we’re doing but in the near future I hope to take submissions from photographers (amateur or professional) and women themselves from all over the world.

You’ll notice we’ve incorporated a simple banner ad in our site. Because of the amount of traffic we receive we’ve had to dramatically upgrade our server and with that, of course, comes increased expenditures. This project started as a labor of love and it will continue as such, but the revenue from the ads will help keep the project going as well as fund future shooting in Brazil and other countries. Thank you for your understanding!

First of all, muito obrigado for all the support that you’ve given us since the launch of the new site.  Many exciting things are in the works including the scheduling of a second round of shooting in Brasil this fall.  Tentatively we’re planning on being in São Paulo, Rio, Belo Horizonte, and maybe Brasilia as well.  We’re very excited and we hope to have other ways you can be involved besides modeling.

Welcome to the new website. We’ve changed the layout to make the site a bit friendlier on mobile devices and faster-loading on computers. Before launching the site we also did a complete re-process, re-edit and re-organization of all of the work from the last 6 years. It took a couple months, but we’re very proud of the portfolio.

Because of the number of unique browsers, operating systems, mobile devices and languages, we’d really apprecaite it if you could let us know if anything doesn’t work well for you. Feel free to email us with any feedback you might have about the new site.
